At Redsan Plantation, we are proud to be India’s leading nursery with the specialized expertise required to enhance Sandalwood heartwood quality.

While nature typically takes 8 years to begin heartwood formation, our advanced induction techniques optimize this process, ensuring superior scent and oil density. We don't just sell saplings; we provide a roadmap to success.

The Three-Tier Host Training

Sandalwood is a "hemi-parasite." Its roots have "haustoria" (suction cups) that must attach to other plants to draw nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

  • Primary Host (0–1 Year): Usually planted in the nursery bag itself.

    • Best choices: Red Gram (Arhar) or Mimosa pudica.

  • Secondary Host (1–3 Years): Planted 2–3 feet away from the sandalwood. These provide immediate nutrition as the tree grows.

    • Best choices: Amla, Custard Apple, or Sesbania (Agathi).

  • Permanent Host (3 Years – Harvest): Large trees planted in a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio.

    • Best choices: Casuarina, Melia Dubia (Malabar Neem), or Neem.

Advanced Heartwood Induction: Learn the modern techniques used to maximize heartwood quality.

Expert Cultivation Support: We guide farmers from plantation to a successful 12–15 year harvest cycle.

We offer training to farmers and assist in cultivating sandalwood plants. Our experts provide guidance on enhancing heartwood quality. Join us  for a sustainable future.

Other nurseries in India don't have the knowledge and experience to help farmers to increase heartwood quality.
